The war of the worlds is a beautiful metaphor for Colonialism and paranoia. As you also are Australian I assume, after reading the book it has completely shattered my beliefs of Imperialism. And it is incredibly humbling of my faith in Humanity.

the soundtrack is way too loud and prominent (typical issue with amateur horror films). The phonecall scene would be more effective if there was no soundtrack because it overpowers the diegetic sound. Anyway this comment is 7 years late.

The most official versions of the development of Star Wars can be found in John Rinzler's making of series and Paul Duncan's Star Wars Archives series. You don't get more official then those books. George Lucas A Life is actually full of false info, the first 6 chapters aren't so bad, but when you get to chapter 7 or 8 the book full on becomes a hit piece on George Lucas.
